What’s new in the NeighborWorks® Anchorage HomeOwnership Center…

We are proud to announce that NeighborWorks® Anchorage was selected as one of 26 out of 235 independent NeighborWorks® America Network Organizations across the country to partner in the Sustainable Homeownership Program (SHOP). This pilot program supports organizations as they work to innovate, experiment, learn and grow to better serve today’s discerning homebuyers. SHOP blends proven educational and lending practices with real world business demands. The goal is to enhance organizational transformation, ultimately benefiting our individual communities and helping more people achieve the dream of homeownership.

Funding for our Community Building and Organizing activities is always welcome. The programs we provide enhance the lives of residents in our community and they give residents opportunities for leadership training and create community partnership programs and holiday meals are crucial to every member of our community.
Do you know someone who could use a fresh coat of paint for their house? If eligible, NeighborWorks will paint your home for FREE! Paint the Town is designed to be a community based program to paint homes for: * single parents * veterans * seniors * people with disabilities * homeowners with a limited capacity. Do you or someone you know need fresh coat of paint?
Our community can help veterans who are homeless succeed and improve their quality of life by providing housing that is affordable, accessible and designed to fittheir needs. Patriot Square - Helping to End Veterans Homelessness.

Did you know?

In 2011, we began construction of Connolly Square, a HUD funded rental housing project for low-income seniors. Named in honor of the founder of NeighborWorks® Anchorage, the project will feature 20 accessible one-bedroom units, and is being built in the Airport Heights neighborhood. Construction began in September of 2011 and will be ready for occupancy in the summer of 2012, represents a $5.2 million dollar investment into the affordable housing needs of Anchorage.
